モナスティルの剣道
Monastir Kendo Club is where Tunisian kendo began. The country’s first dojo opened here in 2010 under François Briouze sensei, carrying the way of the sword to the Sahel coast 150 km south of Tunis. It closed in 2016 — and for nearly a decade the Monastir Governorate held only the memory of those first keiko.
In 2026 the club reopened, reignited by the arrival of JICA volunteer Maeda sensei and co-founded with Raji Ben El Ghali sensei. Affiliated once more to the Tunisian Kendo League, Monastir Kendo Club anchors a renewed kendo scene in the Sahel — training a new generation and, with neighbouring Ouardanine, preparing competitors for the 2026 Tunisian Championship. Complete beginners are welcome.

モナスティルで剣道を始めるには
剣道は、防具を身につけ竹刀で稽古する日本の剣の道です。 モナスティル剣道クラブは、まったくの初心者を歓迎します。武道の経験はまったく必要ありません。 多くの初心者は、防具を着ける前に、まず三か月ほど足さばきと基本打ち（基本）から始めます。
体験稽古をご希望の方は、道場までメールかメッセージでお問い合わせください。 最初の数回は道具をご用意いただく必要はありません。竹刀は道場が貸し出します。 稽古に慣れてきましたら、道具ガイドで、 何を購入すればよいか、手入れの方法、そしてパートナーであるNippon Budoを通じた入手先をご案内しています。
